What is an AI chatbot, really?

An AI chatbot is a conversational interface powered by a large language model that understands plain-English questions and answers them using your business's own content, data and tools. The good ones cite your sources, hand off cleanly to a human when stuck, and get sharper with use. The bad ones make things up. How is a custom chatbot different from ChatGPT?
