Guide curated and reviewed byMark Barclay
Before you start
- A meeting recording or transcript
Tools you'll use
- Otter
- Fireflies
- ChatGPT
- SynaBot
Steps
- 1
Get the transcript
Use Zoom's built-in transcript, Otter, Fireflies, or paste the recording into ChatGPT's voice mode.
- 2
Ask for a decisions-and-actions summary
Prompt: "From this transcript, list: (1) decisions made, (2) action items with owner and due date, (3) unresolved questions. Skip small talk."
- 3
Correct the owners
AI is bad at guessing who was speaking. Read through and fix names.
- 4
Post it in the channel
Paste into Slack or email within the hour. Meetings that produce visible follow-ups get taken seriously; ones that don't, don't.
What you'll have at the end
A one-message summary of decisions and owner-tagged actions, posted while the meeting is still fresh.
