How to write a newsletter with AI

Turn a rough brain-dump into a polished newsletter in about 30 minutes, with the sections in the order that actually get read.

Guide curated and reviewed byMark Barclay

Before you start

  • A working AI assistant (SynaBot, ChatGPT, Claude)
  • Some rough notes or links for this week's newsletter

Tools you'll use

  • SynaBot
  • Your email tool (Beehiiv, Substack, ConvertKit)

Steps

  1. 1

    Brain-dump the raw material

In one page, write everything you want to cover — links, thoughts, quotes, numbers. Do not edit.

  2. 2

Ask the assistant for a structure

Paste the brain-dump. Ask for: one headline, a two-sentence hook, three subheads with 60-word sections, one call to action.

  3. 3

    Rewrite the intro yourself

The intro sets the voice. Never ship an AI-written intro — it will feel generic.

  4. 4

    Ask for three subject-line options

Give the assistant the final draft and ask for three subject lines under 50 characters, each with a different angle.

  5. 5

    Preview and cut

Read the newsletter out loud. Cut 20% of the words. It will be sharper for it.

What you'll have at the end

A newsletter ready to schedule, with a strong subject line and an intro that sounds like you.
