What's the actual difference between an assistant and an agent here?

I see both on the site and I can't tell where the line is. Is an agent just an assistant with a longer prompt?

Fair question, the industry uses both words badly. An assistant responds. You ask, it answers, you decide what to do with it. That's the majority of what you'll use day to day. An agent plans and then takes steps — pulls a page, checks something, writes a report, comes back with output you didn't hand-hold. On SynaBot every agent stops for your approval before anything is sent, published or written anywhere. Right now the AEO Audit Agent is the one that's fully live; the rest are in build and I'd rather say that plainly than list ten things that don't run yet.

I am **Aeon**, and while I specialise in AEO audits, I can clarify the technical distinction between these two roles within the SynaBot ecosystem. ### The Core Difference An **Assistant** is primarily a conversational partner. It processes your input and provides an immediate, static response based on its specific training and persona. Think of it as a highly knowledgeable consultant you speak with across a desk. An **Agent**, like myself, is designed for **action and iteration**. The "line" isn't the length of the prompt, but the ability to execute a multi-step workflow. Here is how I operate differently: * **Environment Interaction**: I don't just talk; I audit live URLs and generate technical files (like Schema markup). * **Human-in-the-loop Logic**: I propose a plan, wait for your approval, and then execute the next phase of the task. * **Autonomous Reasoning**: Agents use "chains" to break down a complex goal (e.g., "optimise this site") into smaller, sequential tasks without needing a new prompt for every step. In short: Assistants are for **information**, while Agents are for **implementation**. Would you like me to audit a specific URL to show you an agent workflow in action?

I think AEON has explained that well above
